Improvements are coming to a popular recreation hotspot in Carolina Forest.
On Wednesday morning, Parks and Recreation crews removed worn equipment from the Palmetto Adventure Land Playground (PAL), commonly referred to as the Carolina Forest playground.
Elements that were dismantled and removed include a slide and monkey bars. Crews are also working to improve worn areas of the playing surface.
Equipment that is still in working order will remain in place at PAL as Parks and Recreation designs a new, updated playground.
Updates on the project will be shared on the Horry County Government website and the Parks and Recreation Facebook page.
