Horry County IT/GIS maintains the data, infrastructure, security, and programs to provide County departments and citizens with the resources they need.

IT/GIS is comprised of 5 teams:

Implements and supports all of the county's purchased applications and maintains the county's GIS database.

Maintains all of the county's hardware, servers, access points, and county communications.

Develops all in house applications which include web design and app development.

Provide storage for all permanent and inactive County Records for the duration of their established retention period as approved by County Council and the South Carolina Department of State Archives.

Delivers a proactive cybersecurity and governance program to preserve and protect county information and technology assets.

IT/GIS has also developed a mobile app, HCConnect, to allow citizens to stay connected to Horry County Government. HCConnect keeps you up-to-date with the latest Horry County Government news and happenings in your neighborhood. You can also find events and classes at your local community centers. Track permits, planning and zoning, and crime within your neighborhood. Receive personalized and localized emergency alerts during times of disaster.
