Meet

Mayo

A Terrier, American Staffordshire with mix
This is Mayo. He has been a resident for some time here at the HCACC. We have learned he loves a kiddy pool full off water. He is good with a bath and will stand still. He loves peanut butter. He likes for you to play with him with rope toys and squeaky toys. He likes for you to spray the water hose so he can catch the cool water droplets in his mouth. He has the widest wild copper eyes but he is a sweetie. He is getting better with his leash training. He is pretty good on a leash with some practice he has gotten. He is one of our longest residence here at the shelter and we don't really know why because he is great. We are working with him on some basic training, but he knows the command sit already, especially when it comes with getting a bone, toy, or food. Mayo would make a great and loving companion. We have recently learned he is ok with some dogs as long as they aren't to hyper and try to hump him. We always recommend meet and greets with new dogs.

5/10/2023 Volunteer Carl and Michelle took Mayo for a walk and this is what they had to say about him.
"Mayo is a strong dog, but once he gets some of his pent up energy out he walks pretty well on leash."
