Cosmo (HW+ On Treatment)
A Retriever, Labrador with Coonhound, Redbone mix
This is Cosmo! He came into the shelter as a stray in October 2022 and was returned to us in February 2023. Several staff members have taken Cosmo out for some exercise and he does very well on a leash and enjoys his time outside the kennel.
This dog is very sweet, calm and loves to stay with you when walking. He enjoys going for long walks and cuddling with you. He loves his ears to be scratched and for lots of belly rubs. He also enjoys a good bath. His favorite thing, other than cuddling with you, is to lay in some soft grass and bask in the warm sunshine.
We have noticed that Cosmo is definitely a ladies man and would prefer to spend his down time with a female canine companion. He enjoys taking his meals alone and does not like to share his treats. If you have other dogs or small kids at home we do recommend a meet and greet before adopting.
Volunteer Carl and Michelle had this to say about Cosmo: "Cosmo is a bit timid. Very easy on leash. Not too interested in cookies. He was so calm on our walk. I think he needs time to warm up to people, but he is a sweet boy."
Cosmos's Current Foster has this to say about him:
"Cosmo does great with toddlers, children, small dogs, large dogs, chickens, and LOVES a long car ride. The foster also attached some pictures of him in his foster home.
He is current on vaccines, microchipped, neutered and heartworm positive.
