As of 4:30 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2025, residents of all neighborhoods previously evacuated due to the Carolina Forest wildfire are now able to return home.

Residents will encounter law enforcement checkpoints as they return.

Please stay weather aware and watch for possible rekindling of hot spots in the area. If emergency assistance is required, please dial 911.

All others, steer clear of these neighborhoods. Allow folks to return home safely, and allow first responders to work.

If you return home to find wildfire-related damage, document and report damage to your insurance company, not emergency dispatch.

Horry County Code Enforcement will begin conducting damage assessments in impacted areas on Monday once offices open. At that time, community members can begin reporting damage by calling Code at 843-915-5090.
