On Wednesday morning, Horry County Parks and Recreation unveiled the new accessible playground at Michael Morris Graham Park.
This all-inclusive, National Demonstration Site playground is designed for children of all abilities to initiate play alongside each other.
From the baseball player silhouette on the surface to the recreation ball on the play unit, visitors won't have to look far to spot the athletic themes running throughout the playground.
Standout inclusive elements include a ramped unit for those with mobility devices, a sensory wave climber with integrated grips, and a roller slide designed for simultaneous sensory play and sliding mobility.
"An inclusive recreation space is one of the best things a community can do for people," Horry County Parks and Recreation Director Ray Dunham said. "Inclusive play and recreation simply means no one is left out, and everyone - of all ages and abilities - can play to the greatest extent possible."
We invite community members to visit Michael Morris Graham Park soon for some playground fun!
