Horry County Mosquito Control is slated to begin truck-mounted mosquito spraying operations on Monday, May 5.

Weather permitting, the spraying will be conducted Monday through Friday from about one hour before sunset until around 11:30 p.m.

Spraying throughout various portions of the County will continue as long as weather allows, considering factors such as rain, wind and temperature.

Horry County only uses products approved by the EPA and DPR. The product poses a minimal risk to humans or animals. Individuals with asthma or other respiratory illnesses may wish to stay indoors and close windows and doors during spraying. In addition, homegrown fruits and vegetables should be washed, scrubbed, and/or peeled before eating.
