Last week, Horry County 911 and its regional partners received an honorable mention at the South Carolina Association of Counties awards luncheon for our successful ESInet (Emergency Services IP Network) migration.
ESInet allows centers in Horry, Berkeley, Charleston and Beaufort counties, along with Summerville and Goose Creek, to provide backup call-taking and dispatching for each other, ensuring all emergency calls are answered in the event of service disruption.
This Next Generation 911 system was put into practice on three occasions over the past few years, including when Charleston County took calls for Berkeley County after a generator failed during Hurricane Ian.
With advancements like ESInet, Horry County 911 remains at the forefront of innovation in emergency communications as we look towards the future.
