A powerful tribute to our nation’s founding is taking shape outside the Horry County Museum in Downtown Conway.

Since the May groundbreaking, Horry County’s Building Maintenance crew has been hard at work transforming the museum’s front lawn into a permanent home for replicas of America’s most historic documents.

Created by Foundation Forward, Inc., the Charters of Freedom monument mirrors the display found at the National Archives in Washington, DC.

Once complete, each brick enclosure will house a replica of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Civil Rights Amendments.

A formal ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for this fall – stay tuned for updates!
