The Animal Care Center is offering heartworm treatment half-off through February 2025, for heartworm-positive pets adopted during the month.

A heartworm-positive status is one reason a pet can spend more time in the shelter. Treatment is common and available. The Animal Care Center clinic offers heartworm treatment for adopted ACC pets at-cost ($500).

For pets adopted during February 2025, the cost is $250.

While at the Animal Care Center, pets are given a preventative, which is a common and acceptable practice in animal sheltering, where full treatment (adulticide) is not typically possible.

Community members can meet qualifying adoptable pets at the Animal Care Center (1923 Industrial Park Rd., Conway, SC 29526) and temporarily at a partner location, Tamroc Kennels (201 Bush Dr., Myrtle Beach, SC 29579).
