This past Friday, Admiral Benny Suggs delivered an inspiring message on leadership to participants in Horry County’s Leadership and Development Program, along with Department Heads, members of the Executive Team, and other employees.
With a career spanning military service, corporate leadership, and higher education, Admiral Suggs shared personal stories and lessons that resonated across all levels of the organization.
A North Carolina native, Admiral Suggs spoke about his journey from working on his grandfather’s farm to becoming a naval aviator, eventually commanding the USS America and serving as Deputy Commander in Chief at U.S. Special Operations Command. He also reflected on his time with Harley-Davidson and his return to NC State University as Associate Vice Chancellor and Executive Director of the Alumni Association.
