General Job Description

Under minimal supervision, the Strategic Coordinator is an innovative strategic professional with a diverse background in project management, the behavioral services field of practice, and expertise coordination and interpersonal skills. This position will lead departmental strategic planning to assist a team of highly-driven professionals to increase accessibility of services related to mental health, as well as opioid and substance use. This position will also collaborate with the Community Development Department to develop and implement approaches to address homelessness within the County. This position will identify opportunities of coordination and cooperation among service providers, craft plans of action, and monitor progress towards short- and long-term goals directed towards improving the accessibility of behavioral health services throughout Horry County. This position will be responsible for internally collaborating with other county departments to assist in the implementation of grant-related initiatives and associated agreements that directly align with established departmental goals. This position will be responsible for externally initiating collaborative and cooperative pathways between service providers whose initiatives strategically align with internal departmental goals.

Duties for this Position
  • Facilitates collaboration between and among both public and private (non-profit, faith-based, and business) organizations and providers to simplify an integrated response to behavioral health concerns throughout the county.
  • Establishes baseline data/metrics and identifies strategies for short-term and intermediate outcomes. Collects and analyzes data in order to complete deliverable and reports.
  • Assist in the implementation and operation of a data dashboard and/or other applicable data entry systems (internally and externally).
  • Assist in the in oversight and coordination of a community driven taskforce/coalition.
  • Facilitate coordination/leadership summits, conferences, and/or other applicable educational and training collectives.
  • Streamline accountability measures for SC Opioid Recovery Funds and monitor progress toward SCORF performance measures as well as departmental goals related to Behavioral Services.
  • Assist in the establishment and implementation of interlocal agreements between and among various stakeholders including but not limited to non-profits, health care and behavioral health care providers, and other government entities.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Community Development Department and Behavioral Services Department to assist with planning and implementation of programs that require significant contributions from both departments.
  • Performs other related duties as required, requested, or assigned.
Position Minimum Requirements
  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Counseling, Public Administration, or another related field.
  • Masters of Public Health, Masters of Business Administration, Masters of Public Administration, or another related field is preferred.
  • Experience in grant writing and/or management is preferred.
