General Job Description
Under limited supervision, audits taxpayer’s accounts to ensure proper ad valorem taxation. Discovers and places untaxed personal property on the county tax rolls. Performs other duties related to the classifying, and assessing of all personal property within the County. Audits and reviews personal property accounts.
- Duties for this Position

- Performs a variety of clerical tasks, including but not limited to typing correspondence, copying and filing documents, entering data in computer, preparing mail, etc
- Receives, reviews, processes, files and/or submits a variety of types of documents and reports including tax returns, boat listings, property sales reports, Homestead applications, depreciation schedules, monthly reports, address change reports, tax notices, memos, correspondence, etc.
- Utilizes a variety of equipment including computer, printer, typewriter, copier, fax machine, calculator, etc.
- Requires excellent customer service skills communicating with a variety of groups and individuals including immediate supervisor and co-workers, County department heads and employees, taxpayers, property owners, attorneys, real estate agents, SC Department of Revenue personnel, renters/tenants and the general public.
- Answers telephone, provides information as requested, maintains accurate and up to date account files and performs other related duties as required.

- Position Minimum Requirements

- Requires a high school diploma and three to five years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
- Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license.
- Must pass the required pre-employment physical and background check.
