General Job Description
Under general supervision, inspects grading and drainage work to assure compliance with approved plans for new commercial and residential developments.
- Duties for this Position

- Inspects sites for adequate sediment and erosion control measures in accordance with State and County regulations. May also perform a variety of related duties including surveying, writing letters and memos. Use of technology such as computers, calculators, surveying instruments, GPS and GIS will be required. Extensive field work and interaction with construction professionals and the public is necessary. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Position Minimum Requirements

- Knowledge and experience with construction specifically towards land development.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
A High School degree and one to two years of experience in practical engineering, roadway or drainage construction; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid S.C driver’s license. Will be required to become a Certified Sediment and Erosion Control inspector within six months.
- Experience in the construction field preferred
- Ability to read blue prints as it pertains to stormwater design
- Proficient with a computer
