General Job Description

Under general supervision, operates mosquito control spraying and fogging equipment, helps with larvaciding application, trapping mosquitos and collections. Job will involve working with pesticides. May also assist with Erosion and Sediment control inspections, Ditch Field Inspections, as well as Post Best Management Practice inspections in the Mosquito off-season. May also be requested to operate a variety of types of small equipment, machinery and tools in order to perform maintenance and construction of stormwater drainage systems, including drainage ditches, maintenance ways, pipes and boxes. May work around heavy equipment, and perform traffic control as needed, and any other duties as assigned.

Position Minimum Requirements
  • KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS • Knowledge of pesticide handling is preferred. • Ability to operate small engines and perform maintenance. • Skilled in operating multiple pieces of equipment as assigned including weed eaters, chain saws, water pumps, and wood chippers. • Knowledge and experience with construction specifically towards land development. • Experience in the construction field prefered • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. • Ability to read and write. • Proficient with the use of a computer • All other duties as assigned. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: • High School education High School education with one to two years of experience • Must possess a valid driver’s license. • Must be able to pass the required pre-employment physical and background check.
