General Job Description
Under general supervision of the Clerk of Court and their supervisor, an Administrative Assistant is a first level clerical worker engaged in the processing of Court matters with responsibility for entering, scanning, ordering, copying and filing different types of court documents and exhibits.
- Duties for this Position

- Under occasional supervision, performs a variety of complex administrative, secretarial and clerical duties in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations.
- Provides assistance to department management, co-workers and the general public as required.
- Issues, scans and files General Session’s bench warrants, sentence sheets and indictments from court and pulls warrants.
- Orders record retention files for title searchers and the public.
- Pulls files for judge’s court rosters.
- Processes e-filed common pleas documents by making sure they are routed to the correct person for signature.
- Work as clerk in courtroom proceedings. Swearing-in jurors and witnesses. Keeping track of court proceedings, maintaining and logging the exhibits. Reading verdicts when appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Position Minimum Requirements

- Associate degree in Secretarial Science, or equivalent and one year general office/clerical experience or high school diploma and three years of clerical/general office experience, or any equivalent combination of training, experience, knowledge and abilities.
- Must have extensive experience with computer and office software packages.
