General Job Description

Horry County IT/GIS is seeking an experienced AV Specialist/Videographer to join our team. In this position you will use our state-of-the-art Extron AV system to broadcast live meetings. Most of our meetings are broadcast live to cable channels, Facebook, Apple TV, Roku, and online using Granicus. This position is also responsible for post-production video edits, maintaining our government access channel, and upgrading AV hardware and software.

Duties for this Position
  • Work on-site to complete live broadcast of County meeting including County Council, Council Committees, Planning Commission, and various other meetings as assigned to meet the needs of Horry County. These meetings frequently take place after normal business hours.
  • Perform post-production edits to recorded videos. Including adding closed captioning, computer graphics, or special effects recorded footage.
  • Setup and breakdown microphones, lights, props, or other equipment as required.
  • Remain updated on technological advancement in videography, photography, multi-media, and social media.
  • Broadcast live press conferences during hurricanes or other emergency situations.
  • Maintain the Government Access Channel that is broadcast on local cable provider.
  • Regularly test and upgrade all AV hardware and software.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Minimum Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in audio/visual communications, computer science, graphic design, film, video or related field and 2-3 of professional experience.
  • One-Two years of experience filming on set and broadcasting live feeds.
  • Two years of experience completing post-production editing.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suites with an emphasis on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot AV equipment including cameras, microphones, switchers, mixers, encoders, and projectors.
  • Knowledge of lighting, camera/lens combinations, techniques of modern digital photography, cinematography, and audio.
