General Job Description

Under general supervision, maintains fuels trucks and fuel farm in accordance with all applicable regulations. Must be able to operate fuel trucks, fuel farm and all related terms. Able to assist in daily operation or extended operation of the airport when needed. Assist any area as directed by the Airport Director. Reports to the Airport Fuel Manager.

Duties for this Position
  • Some knowledge of fueling, ramp and fuel farm operation
  • Has an understanding of Advisory Circular '60/5230-4 and 14CFR 139-321(e) (2).
  • Must be certified by designated trainer on all airlines serving Myrtle Beach International Airport.
  • Must be able to complete fuel receipt with minimum supervision.
  • Must maintain all assigned equipment in a highly serviceable manner.
  • Assists other fuelers in performing variety of quality assurance tests and inspections.
  • Must be able to perform daily quality control tests on fuel trucks and fuel farm.
  • Operation of fuel truck, ramp sweeper and pushback is required
  • Maintains daily and weekly inspection forms
  • Must be able to perform minimal repairs on fueling equipment
  • Must be able to communicate on 800 MHz radio
  • Will work in all-weather conditions or airport emergencies as needed.
  • Ability to perform manual labor and lift at least 60 pounds
  • Airport Security, OSHA and AOA driver training is mandatory.
  • Must follow all Airline and federal public cations on fueling
  • FAA and TSA security rules and regulations training is mandatory.
  • Required to have flexible availability for the support of after hours fueling requirements.
  • This position may require working at night and/or weekends.
  • Understands and complies with Horry County and Department Policies regarding absences and use of paid leave time and other policies.
  • Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
Position Minimum Requirements
  • High school or GED equal education. Physical ability to perform the required work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Two years of practical training and experience in a fueling environment either commercial or military. Valid South Carolina driver's license. Must pass 10 year background check, physical, and drug test. Written test and/or work ability demonstration may be required.
  • PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience in fueling or fuel farm operation. Two year airport experience. Knowledge of OSHA, ATA 103 rules and regulations. Knowledge of FAA rules and regulations.
