24/7 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
When you call, text, or chat the 988 Lifeline, your conversation is free and confidential. This mental health hotline connects individuals in need of support with counselors across the United States and its territories. People do not have to be suicidal to call. Reasons to call may include substance use disorder, economic worries, relationships, culture and identity, illness, intimate partner violence, depression, mental and physical illness, and loneliness.
Veterans in crisis and their families and friends can be connected with qualified Department of Veterans Affairs responders through a confidential toll-free hotline, online chat, or text by calling 988 and pressing 1.

HCPD Crisis Intervention Team

Horry County Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team consists of licensed counselors assigned to patrol squads that provide around-the-clock support, de-escalating mental health emergencies, conducting acute behavioral health screenings, and performing on-site mental health assessments. They work to connect individuals in need with appropriate clinical referrals and additional community resources. To reach the team directly, call 843-915-8100.
HCFR Harm Reduction Program

Horry County Fire Rescue’s Harm Reduction Program was developed to connect individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders to appropriate levels of treatment and community support. Harm Reduction Specialists work with individuals toward care options that range from medical detoxification to inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, sober living, and community therapy. Potential clients are identified through EMS referrals, hospital notifications, and community partner contacts. The Harm Reduction Program strives to ensure every person receives an individualized path toward stability and recovery regardless of financial or legal status.
